LINDSAY JOELLE
Lindsay Joelle is a playwright and screenwriter drawn to stories of outsiders, rebels, and the un-assimilated. Plays include TRAYF (Geffen Playhouse, Theater J, Penguin Rep, New Rep), The Messengers (Audible Theater audioplay), A Small History of Amal, Age 7 (Forward Flux/Pratidhwani), and The Garbologists (Philadelphia Theatre Company, City Theatre). She has developed work with Playwrights Foundation, PlayPenn, Asolo Rep, Great Plains Theatre Conference, and is an affiliated artist at New Georges and the National New Play Network. She has received an Audible Theatre Emerging Playwright commission, Ensemble Studio Theatre/Sloan Foundation Science & Technology commission, Vital Theatre new musical commission, Irving Zarkower Award, and Rita & Burton Goldberg Playwriting Prize. Alumna of Columbia University (B.A.), Hunter College (M.F.A.), the BMI Musical Theatre Workshop, Nashville Repertory Theatre’s Ingram New Works Lab, and NNPN Playwright-in-Residence at Curious Theatre. Non-theatrical writing includes restaurant reviews for New York Magazine’s Grub Street, animated mental and behavioral health training simulations, and the prep book Tutor Tells All: ACT Test Strategy.
