The evening is directed by Ausar Stewart & Bria Walker-Rhoze and presented by the Center for New Work with support from the Richard King Mellon Foundation. The Center for New Work connects the Carnegie Mellon School of Drama and Pittsburgh’s established theaters to generate new work initiatives, creating a collaborative hub between higher education and regional theaters to sustain new live theatrical performance. Whether it be readings, workshops, masterclasses, or productions, the Center provides students for-credit and extracurricular learning opportunities to engage with leading theatremakers as they develop their latest creations. Local partners include City Theatre Company, Confluence Theater of Pittsburgh, Kelly Strayhorn Theater, New Hazlett Theater, and the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust.
