CITY THEATRE CONTINUES 2010/11 Season WITH
THE WORLD PREMIERE OF WILLY HOLTZMAN’S THE MORINI STRAD

Directed Former City Theatre Associate Producing Director Daniella Topol

November 6–December 12, 2010

PITTSBURGH, PA (October 12, 2010)—City Theatre continues the 2010/11 Season with the world premiere of The Morini Strad by Willy Holtzman. Daniella Topol, former City Theatre Associate Producing Director, directs on City Theatre’s intimate Lester Hamburg Studio Stage. The Morini Strad runs from November 6–December 12, 2010. The Opening Night performance is Friday, November 12 at 8 pm.

Former child prodigy Erica Morini hires Brian, an unassuming violin builder, to restore her priceless Stradivarius violin. The aging diva proves a tough client, but as Brian demonstrates his worth, the two form an unexpected friendship. Inspired by the true story that rocked the classical music world, award-winning playwright Willy Holtzman brings his world premiere to City Theatre.

The Morini Strad features Carla Belver as Erica Morini and David Whalen as Brian. The design team includes Tony Ferrieri (Scenic), Angela M. Vesco (Costume), Dennis Parichy (Lighting), and Brad Peterson (Sound).
